Jean Fike Akens went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the age of 86. Jean was born on May 31, 1929, in Laton, CA to Floyd and Nell Fike. Jean was a teacher in the Fresno Unified School District for 37 years. She loved her dogs, gardening, family gatherings and a good game of Scrabble. The period before her passing was a blessing. It allowed family members to share their love and reflect on the joy and laughter that she brought to everyone that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Akens; brother, Robert Fike; and sister, Colleen Grimes.
