Doris was born May 27, 1935 in Deerwood, Minnesota to Marion Kile and Elizabeth (Schammel) Kile. Doris' father's job took them to many towns in Minnesota during her young life, but eventually they settled in her mother's hometown of Granville, Illinois, where Doris graduated from Hopkins High School. Doris went on to graduate from Illinois State Normal University. On June 7, 1958, Doris married the love of her life, Bernard Gaydos and together they built a loving life full of laughter and friends.
Doris worked for many years at St Mary's Hospital in Streator and Ottawa Community Hospital as a medical transcriptionist. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening - her prized raspberry patch provided many batches of jam and jelly over the years. She was a member of the choir at St Michael the Archangel Parish for 52 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother (GiGi), and while her departure leaves the family with heavy hearts, we hope to carry forth the love and happiness she gave us every day of our lives; sharing it with others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Donald Kile. Doris is survived by her children, Mari Gaydos (Justin) Smith, Robert (Patricia Turczyn) Gaydos and David Gaydos; a brother Richard (Jeri) Kile; grandchildren Tara (Charlie) Allen, Heather (Matt) True, Daniel Gaydos, Thomas (Colleen) Gaydos and 8 great grandchildren.
