Three of her sons served in the U.S. Army during World War I; two of them fought in France. Frank died there of his wounds; his remains were later repatriated. John returned home following the war, but he died not long afterwards.

Her obituary in the New York Times noted that the Maspeth post of the Polish-American War Veterans [now the Polish Legion of American Veterans] was named after Frank. The obituary also stated that she was active in the Gold Star Mothers, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Third Order of St. Francis.
