• Roger was born Aug. 12, 1935, in Alantic, Iowa, the son of George and Pearle (Kerkmann) Frank. He attended Atlantic public schools and graduated from Iowa State University in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was united in marriage to Emily Miller on Nov. 7, 1959, in Elgin.
• Roger was a charter member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut for 50 years where he served on the church council and various boards. He served on the Walnut Grade School Board for 12 years and was a lifelong farmer in the Harmon area for 50 years before retiring and moving to Rock Falls in 2000. In retirement, he volunteered for the VITAL program at Sauk Valley Community College and Roger also enjoyed reading and golfing.
• He is survived by his wife, Emily Frank of Rock Falls; and two sons, Timothy Frank of Clinton, Iowa, and Thomas (Laurie) Frank of Rock Falls. Roger was also a loving and devoted grandfather to Lindsey, Brady, Nolan, Aaron and Hailey Frank. He was preceded in death by his parents.
• Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
