In addition to his parents, he leaves behind, a widow, Mrs. Ruth Pearl (Eck) Adkins whom he married August 13, 1934, a daughter, Mrs. James (Alice Ruth) Eckstein, and 3 sons, Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Adkins, Gerald "Jerry" Wilfred Adkins & David Lloyd Adkins, all of East Liverpool. Also surviving, is his step-mother, Minerva Smith-Adkins and a half-brother, William "Bill" Adkins.

He was preceded in death by an infant son who passed away in 1938 during a premature birth.

There is a Memory Marker in Riverview Cemetery to honor him.
