Mr Leon passed away after a long illness. He is survived by his three children along with eight loving grand- children. He was a devoted husband of 49 years to Jane, who died in 2000.

Al was a veteran of U.S. Navy service in World War II in the Atlantic on the U.S.S. Destroyer Joseph P. Kennedy; graduated from New York University; worked as a teacher, sales professional, statistician, mathematician, businessman; was a life-long student, bridge-player and fan of Broadway shows, Sunday brunch and the Atlantic beaches, particularly Bethany Beach, Delaware, where he maintained a home.

He received a life-saving heart transplant in 1987, and was a vocal advocate for organ transplant donation.
