Charles Reider Jr., Bismarck, died Aug. 14, 2002, at his home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eastgate Funeral Service Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Charles Reider Jr. was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Carrington, the son of Charles and Alma (Willey) Reider. He was raised and educated in Carrington. After high school Charles enlisted in the National Guard, and during the Korean War he was stationed at Camp Rucker, Ala.

In 1960 he moved to Studio City, Calif., where he worked 17 years for Phil Rauch Chrysler Plymouth dealership that was located in North Hollywood. He then worked for Universal Underwriters Insurance Co. in Studio City for 10 years.

Charles and Martha Maier were married Dec. 25, 1976, in Las Vegas, Nev. In 1993 Charles and Martha moved back to North Dakota to retire in Bismarck.

Charles is survived by his wife, Martha; one stepson, Robert Maier, Seattle; one sister, DelRose Wicks, Valley City; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Marie and Loretta.
