Mrs. Keene was a former caregiver and homemaker and of the Holiness faith. She enjoyed cooking, visiting with friends, telling stories, listening to gospel music and dearly loved her hometown of Heidrick.
On August 5, 1958, she united in marriage with Mitchell Keene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell; four sisters, Elon Tuggle, Hazel Hudson, Christine Sprinkles and Ellen Scalf; three brothers, Cecil, Estil and Gary Scalf; and a granddaughter, Lisa Sizemore.
Survivors include her children, Shelia Harrison and husband, James, of Red House, WV, Barbara Burnett of Barbourville, Jimmy Keene and wife, Stella, of Flat Lick, Mary Gambrel of Barbourville and Betty Keene of Heidrick; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a special nephew, Claude Scalf; a sister-in-law, Jo Scalf of Barbourville; her caregivers, Linda Jones and Stacey Sizemore; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A memorial service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, May 6 at 7 P.M. with Rev. Pete Clark officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 5 P.M. until the time of service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
