Sara Grace Bare, age 80 of Greenville, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Darryl Bolen officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home. For those who desire, memorials may be made to Hospice of Bond County or the Bond County Senior Center.

Sara Grace, the daughter of Harold and Nellie Enloe Lurkins, was born October 26, 1935 in Bond County. She grew up on the Lurkins' family farm and attended the local schools. Sara attended the Greenville High School for 2 years and then graduated from the Mulberry Grove High School. She earned her Beautician's license from the Alton School of Beauty. Sara was a beautician and initially worked for Ada Dubach. She later opened a shop in her home on the farm and worked from there while raising her family for many years. Once her kids were raised, she went to work for Jansen's Men's & Boy's Wear and lastly JC's Video for the past 30 years. She enjoyed visiting with others and was an avid gardener.

Sara and Chester Earl Bare were united in marriage on December 20, 1955 at the United Methodist Church in Greenville. They have enjoyed 60 years together. He survives as do their children, Kevin Earl Bare, Michael Bare and wife Rose, Kenneth Bare, Steven Bare and Susan File and husband Paul. She was the loving grandmother of Jennifer Bare and friend Eric Gillan, Carri Zuzzio and husband Tony, Terri Eaves and husband Zach, Jonathan Bare, Zachary Bare and Alexander File. Great-Grandmother of 7: Keegan, Connor, Jacob, Benjamin, Anthony, Tanner and Tristan. Also surviving is her sister, Loretta Gribble of Florida.

Mrs. Bare was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Juanita Ann Bare, October 16, 1956, a grandson, Brandon Michael Bare, September 18, 1986, sister Lavada Nowlin and a brother Harold C. Lurkins, Jr.
