MRS ARTELIA SHAWNEE
Mrs. Artelia Shawnee, a Ramona resident for 64 years passed away at 1:10 p.m. Thursday in the home of her son in Pittsburg Kansas where sha had resided for the past four months. Mrs. Shawnee was born June 14, 1871 in Center Point Ark. and was married Aug 20 1888 to Dempsey F. Gilstrap who passed away in1902. In 1908 she was married to Charles J Shawnee who passed away in 1927. Mrs. Shawnee is survived by three sons: Robert D. Gilstrap Ramona; George Gilstrap of Wewoka, and Charles J. Shawnee Pittsburg. Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son Albert Gilstrap preceded his mother in death on April 2 I950. Mrs. Shawnee's remains were returned to the Neekamp Funeral Home Thursday night where she will remain until taken to the Friends Church in Ramona where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ralph Lemmons will officiate and interment will be in the Ramona cemetery under direction of the Neekamps.
