Wichita Pioneer Enoch Dodge, a Civil War Veteran, was the son of Enoch Dodge and Susan Wheelock Adams. He was also the brother of Almon E. and Frank Dodge. Arriving in Wichita in 1869, Enoch and his brothers bought land west of the Arkansas River and became the first settlers of what would become Delano Township.
Enoch Dodge married Francis Elizabeth Hughes in 1876 and in 1887 had a two-story Victorian house built at what is today 1406 West Second Street in Wichita, Kansas. The house has had just two owners since Dodge family members last lived there and they have worked hard to restore and maintain the historic home.
