Michael J. Sirek, 68, of Dobie died Oct. 2 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. A Mass of Christian burial was Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, with the Rev. David Oberts officiating and interment at the church cemetery

Mr. Sirek was born to Michael and Laurene (Morneau) Sirek on May 19, 1938 in Rice Lake. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes grade school and then graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1956. On Oct. 18, 1958 he married Betty Thome at Haugen, and they farmed Riverside Farms in the Town of Cedar Lake in rural Rice Lake until 1998. Mr. Sirek then worked for Johnson Truck Bodies until retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; four sons, Mike, Jim and Jason, all of Rice Lake, and Tom of New Richmond; two daughters, Ann Ricci of Rice Lake and Jodi Powell of Poplar; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Laurene Sirek of Rice Lake; and three sisters, Mary Ann Hensel, Phyllis Denison and Judy Running.
