Joretta Blanton Wallin, age 85, of the Burleson Gap Community, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6th, 2016 at her home. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Mary Rhinehart Justice. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lonnie Blanton; second husband, Hugh Wallin; sisters: Mabel Henderson, Carrie Hill, Quaye Hill and Hazel Stevens and brothers: L.J. Wood, Walker Wood, Ernest Wood and Bud Justice. Joretta was a member of West Burnsville Baptist Church who enjoyed writing songs and poems and singing. Her pride in life was her mission work in Twin Wells Navaho Childrens Home in Arizona and many other children homes in various states.

Surviving are her daughters: Rebecca Morrow and husband, Danny, and Mary Hyatt all of Burnsville; sister, Bonnie Sue Irwin and husband, Richie, of Grass Valley, CA; brother, Neal Justice and wife, Martha, of Clyde; sister-in-law, Velma Justice of Candler; seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 9th in West Burnsville Baptist Church. Rev. Charlie Carroway and Rev. Ricky Ray will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church and at all other times will be at the home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Gideons International at PO Box 264, Burnsville, NC 28714, Hospice of the Blue Ridge at 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 2877 or to a charity of your choice.
