Ruth was the daughter of the late Harrison and Teeny Mae Russell Smith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Edith James, Dortha Clark, Grace Haney, Zora Haynes, and Ola Trantham; four brothers, Earl, J.D., Willie, and Hugh Smith. Ruth was a devoted member of Mountain View Church of God. She is survived by a daughter, Benalee H. Stuart of Lavonia, Georgia; a son, Harold Dean Hannah and his wife, Barbara Jean, of Candler; a sister, Shirley Dowdle and her husband, Thad, of Hendersonville; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Smith of Clyde.
