Jacob Moser, son of Abraham Moser and unknown wife, was born about 1789 in Orange (now Alamance) County, North Carolina, and in 1808 moved to Anderson County, Tennessee; about 1809 he married Mary Stephens, daughter of Lewis Stephens. He served as a private in Capt. Richard Marshall's Co., 5th Regt., East Tennessee drafted militia, from November 13, 1814, to May 12, 1815. He later received bounty land for his service. About 1822 he moved to Monroe County, Indiana, where he lived in 1850.

796. Moser - Jacob, buried in Brown county, Ind. Unity Church cemetery, his grave by that of his son Calvin Moser, but no marker. He came to Monroe county, Ind. about 1819, entering land near Bloomington, Ind. He married Polly Stephens. Children, Calvin, born 1817, in Cumberland county, Tenn., died May 26, 1904, Brown county, Ind.; Lewis, Tabitha, married Griffin Davidson and Mary, married Nathan Hensley. Name also spelled Mosser, Mosier, Mousier, Moshur. He lived in North Carolina before coming to Tennessee, and may have lived in Kentucky before coming to Indiana.

John Mosier, was born in Indiana, July 22, 1826, to Jacob and Mary Polly Stephens Mosier. He died January 24, 1886, at his home near Winnipeg, Missouri. He was a veteran of the Civil War.

He had three brothers, Lewis, Calvin, and Washington; 5 sisters, Tabitha Davidson, Mary Hensley, Catherine Asher, Martha Cox, and Rachel McQueen.
