He married Shirley Leslie on March 7, 1953 in Hastings, MI. Together they raised four children. Jerry loved his family, telling jokes, going for Sunday drives (every day of the week), painting and drawing, working on cars and driving in demolition derbies for 33 years.
He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and worked at General Motors for 29 years, retiring in 1990.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Raymond; daughters Gerri (Gene) Kemp and Tammy (Todd) Fendt; grandchildren Dino Kaufman, Tiffany (Rowland) Taulbee, Jarrod Kemp, Aaron Raymond, Marie Hege, William Hege, Joseph Hege, Jacob Hege, Celeste Fendt and Nick Fendt along with eight great-grandchildren; brother Dick (Jo) Raymond. Preceding Jerry in death are his parents; sons James Raymond and Rocky Raymond along with 6 siblings.
Funeral Services were on Monday, May 16th. Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery, next to his sons, at a later date.
In leiu of flowers the family would appreciate donations, in Jerry’s memory, be made to Lake Odessa Fire Department/ First Responders.
