Levi Smith Fowler, a former Harding, Ill. resident, passed away at a hospital in Los Angeles, CA., last Thursday, Oct. 18, 1934 and his remains were brought back to Harding, Ill. for burial. The body arrived here Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon funeral services were held from the Presbyterian Church and the burial was held at the city cemetery Saint Norbert's.
Mr. Fowler was born and spent practically all his life in Calhoun county, Hardin, Ill. having been his home for many years and only a few years ago he went to Los Angeles to make his home. He was about 73 years of age.
Mr. Fowler carried the US Mail between Hardin and Kamspville for many years. Mr. Fowler was also engaged in the livery business here for a number of years and he had at times followed his trade of a baker.
He leaves to mourn his death, the Widow Mrs. Laura Athy-Fowler, one son Claude and 2 daughters Mrs. Enda Fowler-McLain of Los Angeles CA. and Mrs. Alice Fowler-Shaw of East Harding, Ill. Mr. Fowler is also survived by a brother A.D. Fowler of West Harding, a Sister Molly Fowler-Davis of Shreveport, LA and two half sisters Mrs. Addie Day and Mrs Ella Day of Hamburg, other relatives and many friends.
