Seigfried “Zeke” Martins Sr., 69, Roney Drive, died at 11:51 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center after an apparent heart attack.

Private graveside services will be today at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West with the Rev. Brian Marcoulier.

There will be no visitation.

Hughart and Beard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Elbing, Germany, he was born Feb. 13, 1943, the son of the late Emal Otto and Erna Rose Martins.

He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and had served in the Vietnam War. Following his retirement, he owned and operated a woodworking shop. He was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Heltsley Martins; his son, Zeke (Tracy) Martins Jr., Simpsonville, S.C.; his stepson, Christopher (Reka) Tabb, Clarksville; two sisters, Adelheid Martins Shillus, Brandenton, Fla., and Carola Martins, Paterson, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
