Reuben Heath, a native of Vermont, came here a single man, in the summer of 1791, and settled on the North Road, upon lot No. 61, building thereon a log house. He married a sister of Elisha Farwell, a prominent settler in the vicinity of Belcode. He became the father of a large family. Three of his daughters, Mrs Thomas Halsted, Mrs David K. Nettleton and Mrs Harvey W Hyde, resided in the village of Scottsville until their death. Heath died June 15, 1818 and his remains are in Oatka Cemetery. At present there is not descendent of his living in the town. Eldridge Heath, the youngest, and the last of the family of thirteen children, died in New York City March 19, 1906, aged 85 years, and was buried at Mt Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY
