"Dr. Harrie V. Frink of Richfield Springs, Otsego County coroner, gave a verdict of suicide in the death of Glenn Bowler Bliss, 41, of Burlington Flats, who died from a self-inflicted shot gun wound in his chest Feb. 4. The body was removed temporarily to the Houk Funeral Home, Edmeston. The body was found by his son, Dean, on his return from school. Deputy Sheriff Jack Nevil, who was called, quoted Mrs. Bliss as saying she had no idea of the reason for the act. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Home, Oneonta. Body will be placed in the Plains Cemetery vault for later burial. Mr. Bliss was born in Milford Nov. 20, 1911, son of Elmer and Maude (Bowler) Bliss. He married Ethel E. Krofft in Milford Jan. 17, 1941. He was a dairy farmer. Also surviving are his son, his mother, of Milford Center; two brothers, Lynn, Milford Center, and Lisle, Portlandville; three sisters, Mrs. Claude Balcom, Cooperstown, Mrs. Wheeler Baker, Oneonta, Mrs. John Utter, Milford Center."
