Lawrence Edward "Ed" Cox Sr., 88 of Crossville, TN, passed away April 30, 2016. He was born July 17, 1927, in Cumberland County, TN, the son of Lawrence David and Martha Woody Cox. He was retired from the Cumberland County School System as a bus driver and was also a member of Lawrence Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. He was a wonderful husband and father who loved his wife and family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Pauline Cox; sons, Eddie Cox and his wife Debbie, and Edgar Cox and his wife Joyce, all of Crossville; daughter, Linda Lowe and her husband Joe Sr. of Crossville; sisters, Geneva Wyatt and Virginia Tabor, both of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Penny Barnes, Kim Hinch, Rhonda Cox, Joe Lowe Jr., Casey Cox, Buffi Ledbetter, Israel Cox, Chad Cox, Jaclyn Cox and Tony Cox; great grandchildren, Austin Davenport, Kendra Wilson, Hannah Clouse, Bailey Ledbetter, Cory Ledbetter, Caleb McElhaney, Devin Hinch, Lexi Hinch, Abram Cox, Parker Cox, Cade Cox, James Miller, Jody Cox, Spencer Cox, Kristen Cox, Connor Cox, Kobe Cox, Brody Lowe and Briggs Lowe; and great great grandchildren, Whitlee Wilson, Callee Wilson, Beau Davenport, Harper Davenport, Delany Ledbetter and Kyle Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son- Jackie Cox and sisters- Ida Mae McDonald and Marie Hood.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home. Bros. Mack Willis and Joe Lowe Jr. officiated with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
