Ruby Holland, 66
IRWIN - Ruby Leona Wiig Holland, daughter of Chris and Louise Wiig was born Feb. 3, 1924 in Shelby co. She died at Northwood Health Care Center, Belvidere, IL, April 15, 1990 at age 66 years. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Irwin. She attended school at Kirkman and graduated from Kirkman. She then attended Buena Vista College at Storm Lake and Drake University in Des Moines. Acquiring a degree in teaching, which was her profession until retirement. Her last school district was Boone County, IL.
July 25, 1946, she married Robert Holland in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Irwin. One daughter was born to this union, Ann Holland of Elmhurst, IL. After they were married, they called many communities their home, within the last 25 years residing in Belvidere, IL. Mr Robert Holland worked for the Northwestern railroad. While in Belvidere, she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Belvidere.
Those preceding her in death were her father, mother, Chris and Louise Wiig. She is survived by her husband, Robert Holland of Belvidere, daughter Ann Holland of Elmhurst, IL.; two brothers, Howard of Harlan; Norman of rural Harlan; and one sister, Lola Jensen of Honolulu, Hawaii; plus other relatives.
Services were at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin on April 18, 1990. Pastor Douglas Mathison officiating.
