Mabel Sund Hayes, 95, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. At an early age she dedicated her life to the Lord and never faltered.

She held several positions as a member of the Fern Leaf Chapter of the Eastern Star, served her country in the United States Navy during WWII, where she met her husband of 68 years.
Mabel worked for 30 years at Polsky's, retiring in the early 70's where she was able to spend her time enjoying life with her grandchildren, sewing, gardening and visiting with the elderly up
until her mid 80's. Soon there after she met her dear friend, Lavonne Dilworth, who without fail called everyday to check on her.

Preceded in death by her husband, Beecher (Buck) Hayes; she is survived by her son, David and his wife Vicki; her grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday May 2, 2016 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home 788 Kenmore Blvd Akron with Pastor Jason Boggs officiating. Friends may call one hour prior
to service time. Burial to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
