He was born October 29, 1931 in Lee County, KY, the son of Seldon and Rhoda Ball Palmer. He was a retired operating room technician for the University of Cincinnati, an Army Veteran of the Korean War, a former Mason and attended the Tallega Community Church.
Survivors are sons, Darold Johnson of Cincinnati, OH, Joseph Thorpe of Beattyville, KY, Theodore "Dean" Palmer of Ocala, FL; sister, Catherine P. Brewer of Cincinnati, OH; brother Seldon Palmer, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Bill, Harold and Frank Palmer; sisters, Nancy P. Moore, Mary P. Kelly and Elaine P. Shelton.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Newnam Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Pruitt officiating.
