Gene Campbell of Birmingham went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Homer and Edith Williams Campbell; brothers, Clifford, Vernon, Max and Paul; and sisters, Mary Shoemaker, Lois Camp, Thelma Lefoy and Helen Campbell; and his daughter, Becky Campbell Fisher. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jane Jackson Campbell; children, Steve Campbell (Helga), Paul Campbell, Kay Campbell Howard and son-in-law Ronald Howard who cared for him until the end; and sister, Edna Campbell Ball Reaves.

He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Wayne Howard (Trazy), Mark Howard (Tara), Meagan Campbell, John Howard (Kristina), Scott Campbell and Paul Howard; and greatgrands, Rebecca, Hailey, Chloe and Makagan Howard.

Eugene was a faithful servant of the Lord at South Roebuck Baptist Church serving as a lifetime deacon, teaching Sunday School, and singing in the choir.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel from 10:00-11:00 AM with his service beginning at 11:00.

Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
