HARTSHORNE, Oklahoma— Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday for Mrs. Bertha Swindle, nee Allen, age 41, Route 1, Hartshorne, Oklahoma, a native Wilburton, Oklahoma, who died at her home on Monday, June 16, 1952.
Rev. Tom Lucas, assisted by George McGee, conducted the services at the Center Point Baptist Church and burial was in the Center Point Cemetery under the direction of the Burke-Pirtle Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bertha Allen Swindle was born on February 27, 1911. Mrs . Bertha Swindle was the daughter of Leroy Mann Allen and Lula Denton Allen. Bertha was a member of the 1928 graduating class at Wilburton High School and had been a member of the Baptist Church for 27 years. Bertha had lived at her Route 1 home, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, for the past two and one-half years.
Survivors include: her husband, Lawrence Swindle; her mother, Mrs. Lula Allen of Wilburton, Oklahoma; five daughters, Mrs. Bernice Mitchell, Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. LaVerne Brewer Hardesty, Oklahoma; Mrs. Pauline Sitters, Pittsburg, California; and Miss Letha Faye Swindle and Miss Linda Jo Swindle, both of the home; and three sons, Larry Swindle, Harry Swindle, and Jerry Swindle, all of the home.
