ARINGTON FUNERAL HELD AT DECATUR TODAY

Terminating an illness of more than a year, death came to Mrs. Lula Merle Arington on Sunday afternoon, January 8, at the home of her son, the Rev. Bryce Evans, 405 Simmons Boulevard, Newton. At the insistence of the ill mother, Mr. Evans reported as usual to his church to preach, and on his return found that Mrs. Arington had expired during his absence.

Pall bearers were, Albert Stephens, W. A. Spivey, C. D. Scoggin, Jack McMullan, Albert McDowell and William McMullan. The body reposed at the family residence on Highway 15, between Newton and Decatur, from Tuesday until the hour of the funeral. Hutson Funeral Home of Newton conducted the last rites.
