He was with his Regiment at White Oak Church, Virginia, and was suffering from "Camp Fever". A cousin from NJ took a wagon from his home in NJ and went to Virginia, to get Moses. When he got to the camp, Moses was discharged by the Surgeon in charge of the camp on 19 Jan 1863. The cousin took him home to NJ, but Moses only lived 11 days and d. on 30 Jan 1863.
