Albert G. Abdalla, 93, of Shippensburg, died Friday, June 10, 2016 in the Shippensburg Health care Center.

Born October 22, 1922 in Tanta, Egypt, he was a son of the late Gourgi and Helana Issa Abdalla.

He was a member of St. Mary Orthodox Church in Chambersburg. His education includes, The University of Alexandria and Higher Institute of Education both in Egypt, University College of the South West of England, Exeter England, and University of Michigan with a PHD in Linguistics.
Albert taught at the American University and Ain Shams University both in Cairo, Egypt, University of Kentucky, and retired in 1993as a Professor from the Shippensburg University.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helene Khoury Abdalla, one son, Nabil A. Abdalla, of Virginia Beach, VA, and several relatives in Egypt, Lebanon, and Australia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Magda A. Abdalla who died May 24, 2005.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery with Father Theodore Pulcini officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Orthodox Church, 2063 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
