George VanCampen came to the United States in the late 1920s from Friesland,Netherlands where is was a gymnast for the country who earned a bronze medal on the high bars.He married Rena Cook and had 2 children Jean and George Jr.He was the grandfather of Donald,Douglas and Sande Meyer.He is the great grandfather to Amber,Alyssandra,Annah,Ashtyn,Tyler,Rebecca,Doug and Jessica.
George died in a tragic explosion in Hawthorne N.J.in 1967.Eleven people perished in this explosion.Three man could not be identified including George VanCampen.The three man were buried together in this grave at Fairlawn Cemetery.
