Funeral service for Herman Adler will be at 1:30 pm Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the Snyder First United Methodist Church with Rev. Les Bussell, Pastor and Rev. John Cramer, Retired Methodist Pastor officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder, OK under the direction of the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.
*The family will greet friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm.*
Herman Adler, 87, Snyder, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in a Snyder nursing home. He was born August 7, 1928 in Corn, Oklahoma to Jacob and Mary (Sauer) Adler. He married Dortha Marie Jackson on October 30, 1948, South of Indiahoma, Oklahoma. Herman moved to the family farm southwest of Indiahoma with his family at the age of six, and remained there until he had to go to the nursing home in 2012. He was a farmer and rancher his entire life, and was also a carpenter. He was a longtime member of the Snyder First United Methodist Church where he was the head usher for many years. Herman loved his family and loved to have them at the farm each Sunday for dinner.
Survivors include his wife Dortha of the home, three children, Judy Adler of Snyder, Jerry Adler and wife Della of Snyder, Barbara Young and husband Rick of Lawton, a sister Viola Cramer and husband John of Lawton, five grandchildren, April Adler of Altus, Annie Deitchman and husband Frank of Oklahoma City, Brandon Adler of Snyder, Haley Christiansen and Jerald Smith of Norman, Laurel Christiansen of Lawton, six great grandchildren, Morgan Jade Waskom, Colin Davis, Cameron, Cadee and Chloye Adler and Gage Smith, and a sister-in-law Alberta Adler of Yukon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Mike Adler, 4 brothers, Elmer, Gordon, Ray and Bennie and a sister Ann Vickery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Snyder First United Methodist Church or th the Fairlawn Cemetery Association.
