J. Granville Adams, Sr. passed away of natural causes at 11:43 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016 at his home. A native of Crofton, he was born December 8, 1926 the son of the late Herbert Eugene Adams and Belva Adams Grant. He was a salesman and had worked for Nelson Wholesale and Cadiz drywall.
He was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ. He had been a member of the Jaycees, Civitan Club, Homebuilders Association, John Manire Chapter of the Sons of The American Revolution, Western Kentucky State Fair Board, Civil Air Patrol, Boy Scouts of America Troop 1002 Adult Leader, Adult Seascouts Ship 3002, and the Christian County High School Football Boosters.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Adams Grove; and one brother, D. Lynn Adams. He is survived by his wife, Levina "Cookie" Adams; one son, Judge Jim Adams (and wife Betty) of Hopkinsville; one daughter, Kimberly Adams Morgan (and husband John) of Cadiz; grandchildren, James Mikell Crisp (Mary), James G. Adams III (Natalie), William H. Adams II (Amelia), and R. Lynn Adams; and great-grandchildren; William Mikell Crisp and Haley Samantha Crisp.
