Marie Vlesta Adamek Kesler was born on May 12, 1914, to Frank William Adamek and Matilda Waldmann Adamek in Ord, Nebraska. Marie was married to Leo Ferman Kesler on 12 January 1936. Marie died October 15, 2010, in Anaheim, California.
Marie is survived by her sisters Minnie Sevenker and Eva Lashmett, her daughter Tamma Mahony, her grandchildren Bobbi Mahony Gallegos, Kirk Mahony, Dalonda Mahony, and Dawn Sargent, and her great grandchildren Sean Gallegos, Jacob Gallegos, Jessica Gallegos, Mariah Hocking, T.J. Marks and Trisha Marks.
Marie was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She retired from her job in food service at Fairview State Hospital in 1987.
Marie knew the value of hard work and she did work, even at 96 she bragged to her granddaughter Dalonda about how she had pruned her ficus trees. She liked to play too, she was fond of the slot machines in Las Vegas. Marie would save her nickels and quarters and when she had enough she would go play. She knew the value of family, she always made time for family and was always glad to see them. She played soccer with her grandson and took him to amusement parks. She took her last trip to Disneyland for her 95th birthday.
Marie Kesler was the cornerstone to so much how we lived, her absence will leave a void throughout our lives. We all loved Marie and will cherish her memory forever.
