Erma attended Elm Creek District 65 School and graduated from Ord High School in 1928. In 1929, Erma moved with her family to Olean and in 1931, they moved to Ord. She did housework and worked at the Ord Bakery and Safeway for a number of years. On Aug. 10, 1947, Erma was united in marriage to Joseph W. Klanecky at Bartlett. The couple lived in O'Neill and Papillion before settling in Ord. To this union a daughter, Matilda was born on Nov. 19, 1948, in Ord.
Erma later returned to work at Safeway and also did babysitting. Mr. Klanecky passed away in 1961. In 1991, Erma made her home at the Parkview Village in Ord. In 2007, she moved to Grandview Assisted and Independent Living Center and for the past few months she has resided at Valley View Living Center.
Erma was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 7029, ZCBJ Lodge 14 and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards.
Survivors are sisters, Minnie Sevenker of Ord,Nebraska; Marie Kesler of Anaheim, California; Eva Lashmett of Laguna Woods, California and a host of friends and relatives.
Erma was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by her parents Frank and Matilda Adamek; husband, Joe Klanecky, and a daughter, Matilda Klanecky; brothers, Frank, Edward and Paul Adamek; sisters, Alice Kokes, Anna Dahlin and Veronica "Froney" Klanecky and an infant brother.
