Mrs. Eleanor M. (Aylwin) Sampson 92 of Rowley, formerly of Peabody and Salem, beloved wife of the late Albert H. "Sam" Sampson, died Friday, December 11th, 2015.

Born in Salem, (20 Jun 1923) she was the daughter of the late George Sr. and Kathleen (Cavanaugh) Aylwin. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of the former St. Mary's Grammar School in Salem and Salem High School, Class of 1941. She was always extremely proud of her Salem heritage.
Mrs. Sampson was dedicated to providing a loving and warm home for her family. She relished the role of mother and caretaker of her family.

She resided and raised her family in the City of Peabody, yet when anyone would ask, she proudly stated she was from Salem. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
A resident of the Seaview Retreat in Rowley for just over two years, Eleanor received wonderful loving care from all the staff where she became one of the family of Seaview. They family would like to extend great appreciation for the loving care and comfort the people of Seaview brought to her in her last years. They are ultimately grateful for their care of Eleanor.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Janet E. Evitts and her husband Thomas of Madison N.H., Neil A. Sampson and his wife Linda of Rowley, Elaine A. Jackson and her husband Richard of Danvers, David A. Sampson and his wife Sandy of Ossipee, N.H., Paul G. Sampson and his wife Vicki of Wakefield, Kansas, Dana E. Sampson of Beverly and Amy C. Sampson of Farmington, N.H., her 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late George "Buddy" Aylwin Jr. and Catherine "Kate" Aylwin.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Tuesday at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hour prior to the Funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Eleanor's memory to the Activities Fund at Seaview Retreat, 50 Mansion Dr., Rowley, MA 01969.
