Algoma Record, March 2, 1900: Lycurgus Laflin
Waukesha, Wis., Feb. 26-(Special)-News was received here this morning of the death of Lycurgus Laflin, which occurred yesterday at Old Point Comfort, Va. Mr. Laflin was the second son of Matthew Laflin who built the Fountain Spring house. In former years he was a frequent visitor to Waukesha, and is pleasantly remembered by people here. He was engaged in business in Chicago under the firm name of G. H. & L. Laflin. His father was one of the pioneers of Chicago who accumulated a vast estate which descended to his children.
