Eleanor (Charmaine) Oliver, 87, of Genoa, WI died peacefully at the Vernon Manor surrounded by family on Monday, June 20th, 2016.
She was born February 24th, 1929 to Harold and Mary (Hall) Sandvick at Romance, WI.
She married Lyle Oliver on October 16th, 1947.
They farmed in the Genoa area while raising nine children. She was very artistic with numerous crafts and sewing projects. Her true passion was cooking and baking. She was known for her pies and donuts. She loved baking cookies for her many cookie monsters (grandchildren and great grandchildren).
She is survived by her children, Marsha (Dennis) Phillips, Linda (Lenny) Phillips, Robert “Buck”(Gail) Oliver all of Stoddard, Barbara (Raymond) Ross of Bloomer, Michael Oliver, Beverly (Richard) Umberger, Steven Oliver and Donald Oliver all of Genoa, Douglas (Faye Henke) Oliver of Medford; 23 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; her sister, Hazel Gowens; brothers, Ray (Valeria), Roy (Iris) Sandvick, Lavern (Garnet) Sandwick ; brother-in-law, Neil Oliver; sisters-in-law, Ruth Oliver, and Loma Erickson.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Lyle, on September 5th, 1985. Her grandson, Donald Oliver Jr.; Daughter-in-law, Katie Oliver; brothers, Archie and Harold Sandvick Jr.; sisters, Beulah Nordstrum and Anita Malin; brother-in-law, Theodore Oliver and sister-in-law, Vera Jeffers.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24th, 2016 at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua with Pastor Yvonne Marshall officiating. Friends may call from 4 -7 p.m. at the Thorson Funeral Home Thursday, June 23rd and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service. The family suggests memorials to Vernon Memorial Hospice.
