Mr. Black was born Jan. 17, 1936 in Clarksville, Tenn., he was a son of the late Will and Myrtle (Armstrong) Black. He was employed by Ball Glass Co. in Plainfield before he retired. He was a member of Island City Baptist Church and G.M.P. Local #12.

Survivors include four loving daughters, Donelda (David) Jackson, Joliet; Connie (Dennis) Cline and Kathy (Fred) Smalley, both of Wilmington and Cindy (Rich) Long, Joliet; six grandsons, three great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters, one brother, Hatton (Odessa) Black, Tennessee; and two sisters, Orlee (Fred) Grant, Ohio and Jean Harvey, Godley.

Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; five sisters and two brothers.

Age 70 years.
