Born in Belton, Mrs. Acker was the daughter of the late William A. and Martha Tribble Williamson. She retired as a secretary from Winn-Dixie Home office, and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenville.
Surviving are a son, John P. Acker, of Spartanburg; a brother, William Williamson Jr., of Jacksonville, Fl; two granddaughters; four grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Acker was predeceased by a son, James F. Acker Jr.
Funeral services will be at 11am Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barbara Stoop officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 10-11am Friday, prior to the service. The family is at their respective homes. Published in The Greenville News on Oct. 4, 2001.
