HUNTER Carrie Johnson Hunter, of Stratford, entered into eternal rest of Friday, May 4, 2012 in the comfort of her home. She was born on August 8, 1922 in Anderson, SC and was the daughter of the late Henry and Sallie Groves Johnson. She was a Stratford resident for 28 years. She is survived by one daughter, Carrie M. Simmons, three granddaughters, Naomi Marrow (Ishmael), Cassandra Sherrod (Rick), and Cheryl Wade, several great and great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Lester Gee Funeral Home. Friends may greet the family at 9 am, with the service starting promptly at 10 am. Elder Rick Sherrod of Jesus Saves Ministries will officiate. Interment will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Samuel D. Hunter. The Lester Gee Funeral Home, 1390 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT has been entrusted with the arrangements.
