Evelyn D. Adicks passed away on June 26, 2016 at the E.T. York Hospice Center in Gainesville, FL.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL.

Evelyn was a native of Jasper, FL. and was the only child of the late Elmer and Blanche Murphy Deas. While in Jasper, Evelyn was church pianist at First Baptist Church. She graduated from Jasper High School and later attended Florida State University. She was a former resident of Albany, GA and Tallahassee, FL. Evelyn was a past member of Kappa Delta Gamma.
For 13 years she lived in Live Oak, FL.., where she was a high school business teacher, Sunday school teacher, member of the Junior Woman’s Club and organist for First Presbyterian Church. In 1970 she moved to Gainesville, FL. while teaching at Union County High School for 19 years. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville where she was a substitute organist, member of the church choir and Senior Adult Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Special Events cooking committee.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, John G. Adicks; one son, John D. Adicks and his wife Jeanette; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Stephen Adicks.
