"Roland Falwell owned land on ?appo? 20 miles SW of courthouse. The abbreviation ?appo? may mean Appomattox since that would be very near the Appomattox county line. In 1840 Roland sold his part of James S. Webb to W. Gowan.
There is no question in my mind that Roland is closely related to Robert. The Personal Property Taxes of Buckingham County indicate that Robert and Roland lived near each other in district #2 of Buckingham County. Robert first appears in 1811 living near Richard Falwell Sr, William Falwell, and Richard Falwell Jr. In 1829 Roland Falwell appears for the first time. His name appears as Roland C. Falwell. Also appearing in the 1829 Tax list are David Falwell, and William Falwell. Both Robert and Roland have left that area by 1840."

"One of my Missouri cousins recently sent me a copy of a letter written by Bloom Richard Faulwell, which outlines the Falwell pilgrimage from Virginia to Missouri.
In that letter, he mentions he did some research on the family back in 1975 and was able to find documents regarding Robert Falwell in an old courthouse in Union, Missouri, the county seat of Franklin County. He learned that Robert Falwell had two sons named Joseph and William. His will dated in 1842 left his estate to Joseph and William. He also mentions in his letter that he believes Robert Falwell was a brother to Roland Falwell. Roland also had a son named William, so there may have been a connection between them. There is no mention in the letter of a Samuel Falwell.
In case you're wondering, Roland had a son named Richard who purchased land in Missouri on May 31, 1866. He signed with an "X", and the county clerk mispelled the name "Faulwell", and it has stayed that way ever since. Since there is no other source for this spelling, every Faulwell can trace their family back to Richard.
Bloom got this information from his grandfather, Richard. He admits that his grandfather was a man of few words who knew very little of his background."

"Roland Falwell owned land on ?appo? 20 miles SW of courthouse. The abbreviation ?appo? may mean Appomattox since that would be very near the Appomattox county line. In 1840 Roland sold his part of James S. Webb to W. Gowan.
There is no question in my mind that Roland is closely related to Robert. The Personal Property Taxes of Buckingham County indicate that Robert and Roland lived near each other in district #2 of Buckingham County. Robert first appears in 1811 living near Richard Falwell Sr, William Falwell, and Richard Falwell Jr. In 1829 Roland Falwell appears for the first time. His name appears as Roland C. Falwell. Also appearing in the 1829 Tax list are David Falwell, and William Falwell. Both Robert and Roland have left that area by 1840."

"One of my Missouri cousins recently sent me a copy of a letter written by Bloom Richard Faulwell, which outlines the Falwell pilgrimage from Virginia to Missouri.
In that letter, he mentions he did some research on the family back in 1975 and was able to find documents regarding Robert Falwell in an old courthouse in Union, Missouri, the county seat of Franklin County. He learned that Robert Falwell had two sons named Joseph and William. His will dated in 1842 left his estate to Joseph and William. He also mentions in his letter that he believes Robert Falwell was a brother to Roland Falwell. Roland also had a son named William, so there may have been a connection between them. There is no mention in the letter of a Samuel Falwell.
In case you're wondering, Roland had a son named Richard who purchased land in Missouri on May 31, 1866. He signed with an "X", and the county clerk mispelled the name "Faulwell", and it has stayed that way ever since. Since there is no other source for this spelling, every Faulwell can trace their family back to Richard.
Bloom got this information from his grandfather, Richard. He admits that his grandfather was a man of few words who knew very little of his background."

"Roland Falwell owned land on ?appo? 20 miles SW of courthouse. The abbreviation ?appo? may mean Appomattox since that would be very near the Appomattox county line. In 1840 Roland sold his part of James S. Webb to W. Gowan.
There is no question in my mind that Roland is closely related to Robert. The Personal Property Taxes of Buckingham County indicate that Robert and Roland lived near each other in district #2 of Buckingham County. Robert first appears in 1811 living near Richard Falwell Sr, William Falwell, and Richard Falwell Jr. In 1829 Roland Falwell appears for the first time. His name appears as Roland C. Falwell. Also appearing in the 1829 Tax list are David Falwell, and William Falwell. Both Robert and Roland have left that area by 1840."

"One of my Missouri cousins recently sent me a copy of a letter written by Bloom Richard Faulwell, which outlines the Falwell pilgrimage from Virginia to Missouri.
In that letter, he mentions he did some research on the family back in 1975 and was able to find documents regarding Robert Falwell in an old courthouse in Union, Missouri, the county seat of Franklin County. He learned that Robert Falwell had two sons named Joseph and William. His will dated in 1842 left his estate to Joseph and William. He also mentions in his letter that he believes Robert Falwell was a brother to Roland Falwell. Roland also had a son named William, so there may have been a connection between them. There is no mention in the letter of a Samuel Falwell.
In case you're wondering, Roland had a son named Richard who purchased land in Missouri on May 31, 1866. He signed with an "X", and the county clerk mispelled the name "Faulwell", and it has stayed that way ever since. Since there is no other source for this spelling, every Faulwell can trace their family back to Richard.
Bloom got this information from his grandfather, Richard. He admits that his grandfather was a man of few words who knew very little of his background."

"Roland Falwell owned land on ?appo? 20 miles SW of courthouse. The abbreviation ?appo? may mean Appomattox since that would be very near the Appomattox county line. In 1840 Roland sold his part of James S. Webb to W. Gowan.
There is no question in my mind that Roland is closely related to Robert. The Personal Property Taxes of Buckingham County indicate that Robert and Roland lived near each other in district #2 of Buckingham County. Robert first appears in 1811 living near Richard Falwell Sr, William Falwell, and Richard Falwell Jr. In 1829 Roland Falwell appears for the first time. His name appears as Roland C. Falwell. Also appearing in the 1829 Tax list are David Falwell, and William Falwell. Both Robert and Roland have left that area by 1840."

"One of my Missouri cousins recently sent me a copy of a letter written by Bloom Richard Faulwell, which outlines the Falwell pilgrimage from Virginia to Missouri.
In that letter, he mentions he did some research on the family back in 1975 and was able to find documents regarding Robert Falwell in an old courthouse in Union, Missouri, the county seat of Franklin County. He learned that Robert Falwell had two sons named Joseph and William. His will dated in 1842 left his estate to Joseph and William. He also mentions in his letter that he believes Robert Falwell was a brother to Roland Falwell. Roland also had a son named William, so there may have been a connection between them. There is no mention in the letter of a Samuel Falwell.
In case you're wondering, Roland had a son named Richard who purchased land in Missouri on May 31, 1866. He signed with an "X", and the county clerk mispelled the name "Faulwell", and it has stayed that way ever since. Since there is no other source for this spelling, every Faulwell can trace their family back to Richard.
Bloom got this information from his grandfather, Richard. He admits that his grandfather was a man of few words who knew very little of his background."
