McCLEAN, Rita H. - Rita (Hall) McClean, of Estero, FL and a former Newington resident, died Thursday, (November 3, 2005) in Florida. She was the widow of George C. McClean. She was born in New Britain, daughter of the late Walter and Ann (Collins) Hall. Rita was a Registered Nurse having worked at St. Francis Hospital, The American Red Cross and she had served as Director of Nursing at Greenwood Convalescent Home. She was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing and a member and Past President of St. Francis Nursing School Alumnae Association. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Light Church, and a member of their women's club. She was a former communicant of St. Helena's Church and a member of their women's club. Rita was a former Commissioner for the Aging for the Town of Newington and a member of the Newington Democratic Committee and a member of the Newington Senior Center and AARP. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marita-Ann "Micki" and Kenneth Monde of Estero, FL and Margaret M. and Danny Benefield of New Orleans and Bryan St. Amant, LA; six grandchildren, Dr. Rita-Ann Monde, Kenneth Monde Jr. and his wife Anthi, Gregory McClean Monde and his wife Bethany, Sarah, Daniel and Bryan Benefield and a great-grandson, McClean Alexander Monde. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry Hall. The funeral will be Thursday, Nov. 10, 9:15 a.m. from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in St. Helena's Church, 30 Echo Lane, West Hartford. Burial will follow in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 9, 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
