Anne B. Addington

Virginia Beach - Anne Ball Addington was welcomed home into the loving arms of Jesus on July 9, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born August 24, 1934 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Hugh Tolan Ball, Jr & Elizabeth Carr Ball.

She was not one to sit still and enjoyed her many years of volunteering for the King's Daughters Ruth Sargent Circle, Norfolk General Hospital Women's Auxiliary and a special trip with Operation Smile to Manizales, Columbia.

Anne was a lifelong Catholic who found her joy in the LORD. She fell in love with the "Healing Service" at Galilee Episcopal Church and became a faithful parishioner at Galilee, enjoying the ministry of Father Andy.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Clark Addington, III and wife Suzanne Vitullo of Basalt, Colorado, Hugh Tolan Adddington and wife Julie Gregg Addington of Austin, Texas and three grandchildren, Joseph Tolan Addington, Jon Thomas Addington and Amelia Leigh Addington. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Clark Addington Jr. and sister Betty Carr Gainfort.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Alberico, the staff at Virginia Oncology and her caregivers Cindi Martin and Kim Mai for the loving care and kindness they gave her during her time of illness.

A memorial service will be held on July 24 at 11:00 am at Galilee Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach. Funeral arrangements are being handled by H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Hampton Roads Community Foundation, 101 W. Main Street, Ste. 4500, Norfolk, VA 23510.
