GARBESI, Maryetta (Wright) “Met,” formerly of Clearwater, Fla., died peacefully, June 15, 2011.
She was born in Pine Grove, W.Va., the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Wright.
Maryetta was a beautician for over 30 years; owned and operated Maryetta’s Beauty Salon in Moundsville Shopping Plaza for 25 years before retiring to Clearwater, Florida with her late husband Don. Maryetta and Don lived life to the fullest, they loved life, and they loved their family.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Moundsville and attended Sylvan Abby Methodist Church in Clearwater.
Maryetta enjoyed dancing and attending gatherings at both the Moose and American Legion, which she was a member of both. She danced till she could not dance anymore.
Maryetta came home in April to spend the rest of her time in the comfort of the home of her niece, Mary Helen Marling and to be surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, the love of her life, Don, four sisters, Ruth Gurney, Rose Haught, Bonnie Waller and Edith “Tish” Baxter; three brothers, William, Grant, and Willis “Whackie” Wright.
She is survived and sadly missed by four sisters, Liz (Bob) Stipes of Cumberland, Md., Vie (Less) Shuman of Wellsburg, W.Va., Dell (Bill) Liggett of Lake Placid, Fla., and Nell Palmer of Pine Grove. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and a special great-great-nephew, Drew Marling, who made her last two months so pleasurable.
Family will receive friends on Monday from 12 noon until time of Funeral Service at 2 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Rev. Pam Shuman officiating.
Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
