The son of the late Clifford and Ruth (Dyer) Chappel was born in Grayling, on Feb. 11, 1934. Stan served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Montgomery Wards as a repairman in June of 2000. Stan also was involved in the restaurant business. He enjoyed drawing cartoon strips and doing many other drawings.
Stan was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Jim and Clyde Chappel; and sisters, Marge Sears, Thelma Ramey and Margaret Chappel.
