Born in MO to the late Walter and May Zimmerman Hazeltine, she was a homemaker and member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Wilmington. During her adult life, she was a member of the Church of the Advent and the Spade & Trowel Club in Kennett Square, PA and an active member of the Rehoboth Beach Country Club. She attended the Wilmington Friends School and graduated from Wilmington High School and Goldey Beacom College.
Mrs. Allen's brother and sister, Walter Hazeltine and Alice Knake preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, S. Burton Allen; 2 sons, Samuel Burton Allen, Jr. of Bakersfield, CA, W. Bradley Allen of Wilmington, DE; 1 daughter, Bonnie Corwin of Claymont, DE; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She will be especially remembered by Shannon Warren, Mike McGinn and Kevin McGinn. We will remember Jane for her sense of humor and her understanding and unconditional love for her family and friends.
There will be a service 11 am Friday, March 1 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Front St., Seaford, DE. Friends may call 9:45-10:45 am Friday at the WATSON-YATES FUNERAL HOME, Front & King Sts., Seaford. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Seaford
