Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Lily Andersen (Dusty) Griggs, passed away in her sleep on July 9, 2016 in Sandy.

Born May 10, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Dusty was the beloved daughter and only child of Frank Oliver and Bernice Mitchell Andersen.

On February 1, 1947, Dusty married Russell M. Griggs in Salt Lake City. Russ and Dusty had four children, three boys and one girl. Her beautiful daughter, Cathi, preceded her in death in 1978. Dusty was also preceded in death by her husband, Russ, in 1998.

Dusty loved her family and they always came first with her. She had boundless energy and loved life. She also loved golf and playing cards with her longtime friends. She loved everyone and was loved by all who knew her. Dusty remained active nearly all of her life, golfing until the age of eighty-six.

She was kind and found the good in everyone she met. She was constantly in motion though she managed to find time to sit still long enough to watch her favorite NBA team, the Utah Jazz, or take in a golf tournament on television. She was also known to be a fan of the BYU Cougars football team.

At all other times, she was in constant motion. Dusty was always a hard worker. Even in her last years, when she was unable to work, it was difficult to keep her still. She continued to look for ways to remain active and do what she loved, sometimes to the detriment of her health.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, belonging to the East Millcreek First Ward.

Dusty is survived by her son, Lynn Griggs, and his wife, Karen, of Rexburg, Idaho; son, Kevin Griggs, and his wife, Christine, of Salt Lake City; and son, Brent Griggs, and his wife, Mary, of Newport Coast, California. She will be greatly missed by all, especially her seventeen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the East Millcreek First Ward Chapel, 2702 East Evergreen Avenue (3435 South), where friends may visit with the family at the church prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
