William Stoddard was born in the village of Mexico, N. Y., Dec. 18th, 1855, and died Feb. 15, 1902, at his home in this place. Mr Stoddard was taken ill with dropsy, in the fall of 1898 and has been a great sufferer most of the time since, but has been very patient through it all. Deceased leaves an aged mother, a wife, one son, Mr. Orla Stoddard, and one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Coon all of Scriba, and one grand-daughter who lives with them, besides many friends to mourn his loss. The funeral services were held at their home, Tuesday, Feb 18, Rev. C. Fred Miller officiating. Interment was made at New Haven Cemetery.

Mrs. Stoddard and family wish to extend thanks to neighbors and friends also to Scriba Centre choir for their kindness and assistance in their sad affliction.
