Born on January 24, 1927, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Daisy (Cannon) Fowler and the wife of the late Leonard B. Chumley.
She was retired from Mayfair Mills.
Survivors include a daughter, Geri Brown and her husband Richard of Roebuck; a son, Leonard B. Chumley, Jr. and his wife Mitzie of Saxon Heights, Spartanburg; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a special companion, Copper.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Peggy Blanton, three brothers, and a sister.
Visitation was 7:00-8:30 PM on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Monty King. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Boulevard, Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
